The bi-annual event, hosted at the NEC, is a prime opportunity for suppliers to highlight their service offerings to vehicle manufacturers, fleet operators and transport authorities.
21st Century Technology took the opportunity to show off the full range of its capabilities, expanded to include the off-vehicle expertise of its Passenger Information division, formed after the acquisition of RSL earlier in the year.
Solutions the new team offer include real time passenger information, mobile passenger information, smart ticketing and way finding, and this was supported with a working smart ticketing machine, and a fully interactive totem (displaying live data from Bournemouth for both passenger information and wayfinding) installed on to the stand.
This was all in addition to the on-vehicle systems that 21st Century Technology is renowned for.
21st Century Technology aimed to show how each of the technologies offered by the company benefitted the passenger experience, and placed the passenger at the centre of the journey.
Mark Johnson, Divisional Director for the On-Vehicle Systems division commented, “It was really good to be able to show the growing capability within the company.
“Since the formation of the Passenger Information division we have been working to show existing and potential customers the benefits we can bring to the passenger experience through the integration of multiple technology disciplines, and Coach and Bus Live afforded us an appropriate forum from which to do it.”
He went on to add, “We have had meaningful discussions with many of our current customers, and the show has also provided some solid leads for new business.”
