Bus Vannin, the government owned and operated bus service on the Isle of Man, has connected its entire on vehicle CCTV system to the Journeo Portal. The investment is designed to save both time and money, by making insurance claims and customer service queries easier, faster and more efficient to manage.

The Journeo system gives verified users access to critical footage and evidence in minutes rather than hours, as footage can now be accessed remotely, removing the need for anyone to visit a vehicle and download information manually.

As well as managing CCTV footage, the Journeo Portal monitors the health of the entire system, including individual cameras, to ensure everything is working as it should. This eliminates the risk of valuable evidence being lost.

Bus Vannin’s decision to use Journeo’s solution means there is also no need to replace existing equipment on vehicles, as the Portal works with a wide range of existing CCTV recorders and cameras.

Ian Bates, Public Transport Services, Department of Infrastructure, Isle of Man Government, explains the benefit of the Journeo system: “Connecting our existing cameras and DVRs to the Journeo Portal will be an enormous benefit to our CCTV analysts, helping them resolve requests for footage much more efficiently. Whether it’s to prove or defend an insurance claim, help a customer with an issue or assist with a school transport enquiry, we can now simply connect direct to the vehicle, or download using WiFi once the vehicle returns to the depot. The Journeo Portal helps us provide best value to our community for the Government’s investment in bus services.”

Michael Rutherford, Business Development Manager for Journeo, explains why more operators are connecting their systems to the Journeo Portal: “It doesn’t matter how many vehicles you have in your fleet, or what type of CCTV system you have installed, the Portal works with them all. The huge reduction in the amount of time needed to retrieve footage means that operators start to save money from day one, and the health monitoring feature means that operators can rely on valuable footage always being there when it is needed.”

Connected systems, for connected journeys.
