All Abellio’s vehicles are being enrolled into 21st Century’s Adoptive Warranty Scheme (AWS) which will be enhanced by the deployment of the Journeo remote condition monitoring (RCM) system.
This new, real-time approach to maintaining on-board technologies for vehicle fleets is a ‘next generation solution’ – providing owners and operators peace of mind that their safety critical systems are fully operational, even whilst out on the road in-service.
The powerful software embedded in Journeo analyses the performance of all connected systems and communicates with 21st Century cloud-services to enable 21st Century engineers to attend vehicles and address any issues before items fail. As a result, systems availability is dramatically enhanced over a ‘fix-on failure’ or periodic (e.g. quarterly) maintenance visit.
Mark Johnson, Divisional Director for 21st Century Fleet Systems, commented: “Abellio openly states that as a bus operator, it strives to provide the best possible service to passengers – and the CCTV system is critical to that aim.
“We are delighted that Abellio has chosen 21st Century to provide new systems, upgrades and ongoing support services for their existing bus fleet systems based in and around London.
“From our Croydon operations centre, we are ideally placed to respond quickly as we have replacement equipment, spares and component stocks along with technical training and support facilities.”
Mark Wallace, Group Procurement at Abellio, added: “We have chosen 21st Century to be our technical services partner, based on their innovative approach to supporting and upgrading all our on-board systems. This will provide a real boost for our UK bus operations.”
Abellio London & Surrey employs over 2,000 people, operating bus services in Central, South and West London.
